We are seeking a persistent, communication-driven Insurance Advocacy Specialist to work directly with clients, providers, and insurance carriers to secure approvals for treatments, procedures, and services that have been delayed or denied. This position is ideal for a resourceful problem-solver who thrives on navigating complex systems, building relationships, and finding creative solutions when the standard route falls short.
The role will focus primarily on outreach and follow-through with insurance companies — knowing who to call, what to say, and how to make a compelling case that gets results.
Responsibilities:
Pursue approvals and overturn denials through persistent, strategic communication with insurance representatives and provider offices.
Build and maintain ongoing relationships with insurance contacts, provider staff, and internal team members to facilitate smoother outcomes.
Craft clear, persuasive written and verbal narratives that effectively communicate medical necessity and urgency.
Manage prior authorization requests and follow up relentlessly until resolution.
Translate complex insurance language into clear, reassuring communication for clients.
Collaborate with clinical and billing teams to gather supporting documentation and build strong cases.
Track open cases and ensure nothing falls through the cracks — knowing when to push, when to wait, and when to escalate.
Stay current on insurance policies, payer guidelines, and industry changes.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in insurance, healthcare, patient advocacy, customer service, or a related field is preferred but not required
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills — this is non-negotiable.
Comfortable navigating difficult conversations with professionalism and confidence.
Able to be assertive — persistent without being off-putting.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
Ability to manage multiple open cases simultaneously without losing momentum.
Self-motivated with a genuine passion for helping people get what they need.
Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT/ICD codes, or payer processes is a plus.
Professional, personable, and able to represent clients with empathy and integrity.
