Position Overview We have an Instrumentation Technician position available in Eden Prairie, MN. The person plays a key role with customers and project deliverables and is a representative of the entire effort put forward on each project. The position requires traveling to local customers as well as working in the control panel shop.Responsibilities Instrumentation: Start‑up, calibration, and troubleshooting of project related instrumentation (e.g., transmitters for flow, pressure, temperature, position, vibration, current; analyzers for dissolved oxygen, sludge blanket, ORP, turbidity, pH, chlorine, fluoride, conductivity, particle counting).Systems Drawings: Read process & instrumentation, control loop, control panel drawings. Responsible for red‑line as‑built markup documenting current state of PLC and DCS control systems.Motor Control Equipment: Troubleshoot motor control equipment (FVNR Starters, variable frequency drives, soft starters). Knowledgeable of safety requirements.PLC Equipment: Troubleshoot PLC logic, relay logic, and other control equipment.Equipment Modifications: Make necessary equipment modifications in the field, both mechanical and electrical.Computer/Networking: Install and start‑up computer and networking equipment.Panel Shop Support: Build UL Certified control panels; test UL508A control panels.General Administration: Paperwork, copying, printing, faxing, computer use.Minimum Requirements Education: Technical associate's degree or equivalent training/experience. Journeyman level electrician with industrial controls experience acceptable.Experience: Over 2 years of experience with the responsibilities listed above; ability to work effectively with customers and maintain business relationships; team‑work skills; valid driver's license for travel; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access).Physical Demands Must be able to use hands and feet with full dexterity; ladder and confined space access; use hand tools; see, hear, speak clearly; lift, climb, mount/dismount equipment; push, pull; tolerate temperature extremes, sun exposure, moisture; possible hazardous materials and electrical voltages. Ability to stand, drive, bend, squat, climb, twist, balance, and reach.Working Environment Travel to local customers; on‑site control panel shop; industrial environments (construction trailers, etc.). Work may occur in varied temperature conditions, in damp or wet surroundings, on uneven or slippery surfaces, in confined spaces, at heights. Exposure to noise, vibration, chemicals.
