Requisition ID: 296438Relocation Authorized: National/International - SingleTelework Type: Full-Time Office/ProjectWork Location: Thacker Pass, NVSalary Range: $62,900 - $95,900 annually (based on market data; final salary offered is determined by education, experience, and qualifications)Job SummaryThe Instrumentation Field Engineer reports to the Lead Electrical and Instrumentation Field Engineer and is responsible for the technical oversight of all instrumentation activities in his area of the project. The selected applicant shall provide technical direction to the direct hire/subcontractor workforce as well as supervision.Major ResponsibilitiesMust have experience with construction in all areas of electrical/instrumentation construction.Coordinate with supervision the work schedule and any material deliveries required.Complete training requirements assigned.Preparation of instrumentation work packages.Inspection of field installations and completion of associated documentation.Responsible for quantity take-off, control, reporting and forecasting for all instrumentation quantities.Prepare field change documentation and as-built documentation as required.Interface with engineering office to resolve design and constructability issues.Assist superintendents and subcontractors in constructability and quality issues.Work with the suppliers to ensure compliance with project drawings and specifications.Prepare material requisitions, coordinate and review vendor drawings.Work with Procurement's expediting team to ensure delivery of vendor materials to support the project schedule.Interpret design drawings.Complete material take-offs.Assure that materials are stored properly to ensure environmental protection.Material receipt inspections as required.Reviews specifications, inspection reports, delivery schedules, instruction manuals and technical data.Assist with preparation of construction estimates.Recommend design or installation improvements to improve safety on the project.Education and Experience RequirementsB.S. degree in Electrical Engineering with 1-2 years of experience is desired but may be waived if 4-5 years of relevant experience can be demonstrated.Required Knowledge and SkillsExperience with Bechtel direct hire craft is preferred.Contract management experience.Understanding of applicable Bechtel work processes including Standard Work Process Procedures is preferred.Experience in mining and metals is preferred.Familiarity with Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs) including ACONEX, TEAMWorks, Bechtel Productivity System, PTR, eSub and other automation tools which are used on Bechtel projects is an asset.Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.Total Rewards/BenefitsEmployees enjoy a competitive total rewards package that includes comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans, along with optional disability and supplemental insurance options, generous paid time off (160 hours annually, accrued 6.16 hours per pay period), nine paid holidays, paid parental leave, discretionary bonuses, and a well-designed 401(k) plan with matching and profit‑sharing components.Equal Opportunity EmployerBechtel is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
