Kadant Johnson is seeking a results-driven and hands-on colleague to join our team as an Instrumentation and Equipment Technician. This role is based out of Three Rivers, Michigan.
The Instrumentation and Equipment Technician is responsible for the commissioning and troubleshooting of fluid handling industrial automation and controls. This role will support the execution of control projects and related orders to achieve the technical and financial goals of the project by:
Additional responsibilities will include providing follow-up technical support and service for control system projects, engaging in technical and commercial activities, supporting the development of Kadant Johnson’s proprietary control systems, and providing sales support for industrial control systems offerings.
The preferred candidate for this position will have an associate’s degree or technical certification in instrumentation, electronics, or a related field; have a minimum of one to three years of experience in the paper or corrugated packaging industry; have familiarity with instrumentation and control valves, including pneumatic, analog, discrete, and digital; and be proficient in the use of testing and calibration tools. In addition, the candidate will have the ability to program PLC’s and HMI interfaces, be capable of working independently, and must be innovative and self-motivated. The candidate should also be willing and able to travel up to 50-75% to customer sites.
