About This Role:

Hudson County Community College (HCCC) seeks an Instructor-Tenure Track-Nursing (OB/PEDS) for the Nursing Program to join its award-winning and nationally recognized institution. This is an exciting time to be a part of the HCCC community. The Candidate will guide undergraduate students and be involved in skills practice, testing and simulations. Candidates should also demonstrate sensitivity to issues of diversity and have the ability to motivate and assist students of diverse, ethnic and racial backgrounds, sexual orientations, genders, cultures, and learning styles, as well as students with disabilities, or varied levels of academic preparation. The Candidate will be an advocate for access to higher education, particularly for first-generation and immigrant students. The successful candidate will preferably have an understanding and a commitment to the role of community colleges in higher education.

Summary of Duties

What Youll Do:

Instructor-Tenure Track, Nursing Faculty for OB/PEDS is a full-time position working in the Day/Evening Divisions and will be responsible for successfully performing the professional duties of both didactic and clinical instruction. This position will require teaching lecture in the day/evening and teaching clinical in the evening, will assist with activities, schedules courses for their division(s) and peer mentor new adjuncts. This position also participates in College meetings as well as Nursing Program Committee meetings that take place 2-3 times monthly on Mondays, and other regular standing meetings throughout the academic year. Ability to work with College Lecturers and students. Great communication and organization skills.

Qualifications

What Youll Need:

  • RN Licensure with a Masters Degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
  • Two years college-level teaching experience, preferably at the community college level.
  • Experience teaching in the specific discipline.
  • Ability to work with College Lecturers and students.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of modern pedagogical technology and its use in the classroom.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide diverse teaching methods to differing learning styles.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and the ability to teach students from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Preferred experience in distance education course delivery.
