Salaries are dependent upon education and semesters taught at MCC per the MCC Adjunct Faculty Agreement 24/25. Position Summary This division is home to the following: Emergency Medical ServicesOur instructors collaborate with Northwestern Medicine and within the College as discipline experts, helping EMS programming reach its strategic goals through active participation in college committees and by promoting the College to future students throughout our community.MCC instructors are higher-education professionals who champion student learning. They engage and inspire students, applying innovative teaching and learning pedagogies in instruction. They assess student learning to ensure students success, staying abreast of trends in the discipline. Our instructors collaborate within the College as discipline experts, helping the College reach its strategic goals through active participation in college committees and by promoting the College to future students throughout our community. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities Including but are not limited to:Provide instruction in the EMS program offered through McHenry County College under the oversight of the McHenry Western Lake County EMS System, for the purpose of eligibility for initial licensure, continuing education, and professional growth in accordance with IDPH Rules and Regulations and the National EMS Education StandardsTeach courses as assigned by the College.Available to teach daytime, evening, or weekend classes, as neededAvailable for student conferences either before or after class, and by college email if necessaryDevelop syllabus using MCC syllabus TemplateWork cooperatively within the department, the division, and throughout the College in striving for educational excellenceConduct regular assessment of student learningMaintain and submit accurate student and course-related paperwork and data needed for college purposes in a timely fashionDocument and report attendance daily and maintain and submit accurate attendance records weeklySubmit grade reports electronically by the required dateUtilize a variety of pedagogical techniques to meet the diverse needs of our student populationUtilize computer-based instruction and databases when necessary Required Qualifications Associate's or bachelor's degree in health sciences or related field2,000 hours of ED/EMS work experienceCurrent Illinois licensure as an EMTIDPH recognition as an EMS Lead Instructor, or ability to obtain within 6 monthsAbility to obtain current EMS System Protocol CompetencyExperience teaching EMS coursesCourse specific minimum qualifications(Download PDF reader)are approved annually by the Board of Trustees and are available in all Academic Division Offices. For each semester worked, McHenry County College provides Adjunct Faculty a sick leave allowance and credits toward MCC tuition waivers.
