Our instructors work to change the world, one life at a time, by helping students reach their dreams through education.Instructors provide coaching, technical expertise and encouragement while allowing students structured opportunities to develop their own proficiency.One should enjoy making connections and building rapport with others in a fast-paced, collaborative, hands-on environment.Effective presentation skills are vital in this role, as well as the ability to ensure standards and goals are met in each timeframe.Therefore, planning, and critical thinking skills are both essential for success in this position.The ideal candidate will also act with our students in mind and establish and maintain effective relationships with students to gain their trust and respect.

Qualifications
HS Diploma or GED required
NCCER Certified Instructor, associate or bachelor''s degree in related field a plus
They must have a minimum of four years journeyman or licensed technician-level in the crafts they will teach OR- Three years' experience as a certified teacher in a vocational/technical construction or maintenance-related training program in the specific crafts they will teach:
Fire Alarm/Fire Detection
Security/CCTV/Surveillance
Access Controls/PLCs
Electrical Industry (Residential, Commercial, or Industrial)
Nurse Call Systems
Telecommunication and Fiber Optics
Wind/Solar Industries
Building Automation
Network & Information Technologies
Ability to instruct students of various ages and diverse backgrounds
Able to work productively and communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff Strong oral and written communication skills
Excellent customer service skills
Good working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word and Excel required)
Must be able to deal responsibly with confidential information Must be personable, energetic and have a customer service orientation
Must be self-motivated
Must be able to work alone or with a team Abilities
Must be able to instruct two consecutive courses per workday; number of hours will vary based on campus location and program.
Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds for short periods of time during the workday
Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for short periods of time during the workday Must be able to talk, see, hear, concentrate, think, learn, and reason for all the workday Must be able to sit and walk or otherwise move around for prolonged periods of time throughout the workday.
Must be able to use a keyboard and do manual tasks for prolonged periods of time throughout the workday.
Must be able to use various types of technology such as but not limited to computers, projectors, tablets.

The working environment for much of the time will be in an education/classroom setting, including but not limited to 75% lecture or classroom instruction and 25% laboratory or hands-on classes.
