Full-Time Job Announcement

Position: Automotive Collision Repair Instructor

Location: Athens Campus

Department: Division of Business, Industry, and Technology

Reports to: Divisional Academic Dean

Salary/Benefits: Salary is commensurate with education and experience. State of Georgia benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Under general supervision, instruct students in course in both the automotive technology and automotive collision repair skill areas.
  • Follow state standards in developing program and course outlines, goals, and objectives.
  • Develops syllabi to meet program and school objectives.
  • Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives.
  • Requests and maintains supplies and equipment, and prepares required budget requests.
  • Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate.
  • Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports.
  • Attends staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences.
  • Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area.
  • Responds in a timely manner to administrative requests.
  • Meets with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of the students.
  • Assists with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
  • Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate.
  • Demonstrates strong time management and organization skills.
  • Demonstrates effective written and oral communication.
  • Contributes to the writing of accreditation and assessment reports.
  • Demonstrates general computer knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Automotive Collision Repair from a regionally accredited public or private institution.
  • Three (3) years of in field industry work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Automotive Collision Repair.
  • Three (3) years' work experience within the last seven (7) years in a position related to Automotive Collision Repair.
  • Master ASE Certification (B2/B5 for Master Automotive Collision Repair Technician) along with other appropriate professional credentials/certifications (I-CAR) for, or related to the field of automotive collision repair.
  • Previous teaching experience in a post-secondary environment.
  • Previous online teaching or training experience, including the use of video capture tools.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of establishment and evaluation of student learning outcomes.
  • Demonstrate and display strong written and oral communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
