Academic Faculty Contract, 171-day, Benefits Eligible
This position is grant funded through 8/31/29. Employment is contingent upon funding. The position is being filled through an emergency appointment. Appointment to the role on a permanent basis is contingent upon meeting additional recruitment requirements.
This position will initially teach at the Carson Campus and will transition to full-time instruction at WNC's new Advanced Manufacturing satellite campus in Fernley as that site becomes operational. This position may also include occasional teaching at partner high school locations.
Position Overview
The Instructor of Advanced Manufacturing provides high-quality instruction in advanced manufacturing, chemical operations; and related technical fields to support the regions workforce needs. This position develops and delivers hands-on, industry-aligned curriculum; ensures safe and effective operation of laboratory learning environments; collaborates with employers, secondary partners, and workforce programs; and contributes to the continuous improvement of WNCs advanced manufacturing programs. Instruction will initially occur at the Carson Campus, with a transition to the Fernley Advanced Manufacturing satellite campus once it is operational, and may also include occasional teaching at partner high school locations.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Starting Salary Information:
The minimum of the placement range for this position is $49,728. The salary grade is based on the selected candidates level of academic preparation: COMMUNITY COLLEGE ACADEMIC SALARY GRADES. The selected candidate will be placed at or above the minimum based on years of related, professional experience. WNCs placement range falls within the NSHE salary schedule: ACADEMIC SALARY SCHEDULE-COMMUNITY COLLEGES.
Overload Compensation
Academic faculty are eligible for additional compensation (overload), paid in addition to their base salary, when their teaching course load exceeds the contract determined instructional full load threshold, currently 30 instructional units per academic year.
Retirement - NSHE Faculty Retirement Plan Alternative (RPA)
All faculty and professional staff working at least half-time equivalent must participate in the NSHE Faculty Retirement Plan Alternative (RPA) as a condition of employment. The current contribution rate is 19.25%. Your contribution is matched by the College at 19.25%. Your contributions are made by pre-tax salary reduction and you are 100% vested from your first day. You choose how to invest your own and NSHE's contributions. The plan administrator provides dedicated financial consultants that are available to assist you in your investment deliberations.
