The Department of Communication Studies at Marshall University invites applications for a nine-month, one-year temporary (non-tenure track) instructor position starting in Fall 2026.
We seek candidates who can teach a variety of online and/or in-person courses in our undergraduate curriculum, including: Introduction to Speech Communication, Communication in Relationships, Communication in Groups, Leadership Dynamics, Intercultural Communication, and Persuasive Communication.
Primary responsibilities include a) teaching courses at the undergraduate level - both online and face-to-face; b) holding office hours and engaging with students to aid their success, c) developing excellent lecture and interactive classroom experiences using best pedagogical practices, d) and/or other duties as designated by the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and/or Chair of the Department of Communication Studies.
The teaching load is four courses per semester.
