JOB TITLE:Instructional Technology Coach

REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent of Technology

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Current valid Alabama Teachers Certificate.
  2. Minimum five years of experience as a classroom teacher.
  3. A thorough understanding of curriculum on various grade levels.
  4. Ability to analyze and interpret instructional data.
  5. Knowledge of digital resources and willingness to continually learn new ones.
  6. Ability to coordinate ongoing technology. related Inservice activities with administrators and teachers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  1. Plan and implement technology-rich professional development opportunities after school, during department/grade level meetings, embedded and/or during summer for teachers in groups and individually.
  2. Meet with teachers to plan, discuss, and integrate technology resources into the instructional environment.
  3. Work with the Curriculum Department to provide instructional assistance and guidance to the district and schools through the development and implementation of technology course of study and its standards to meet state, system, and school requirements.
  4. Lead, guide, and instruct in the selection and operation of system-wide technology resources to meet the goals of education, accountability and operation for the district and schools.
  5. Assist in the development of processes, procedures, and programs to capture, evaluate, report, and archive measurement data for end-users.
  6. Provide necessary data for short-term and long-term planning.
  7. Stay current in new and emerging technologies, trends, and professional educational modalities.
  8. Ability to work with people of all ages and levels of technical skills while maintaining a positive and patient attitude.
  9. Effective communicator and possess appropriate public relations skills.
  10. Strong work ethic.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: 

  1. Pursue funding opportunities and assist with grant seeking, writing, and management.
  2. Evaluate and prepare reports concerning technology issues.
  3. Aid in the development, updating and measurement of the system and school technology plans.
  4. Assist in the development of technology need assessments.
  5. Provide technical support, assist in troubleshooting and repair of hardware and software issues as needed for the district and school technology resources across a wide range of systems and applications.
  6. Has a working knowledge and understanding of: 
  •  technology curriculum and use of technology in an educational environment
  • various apps and instructional software in a K¬-12 school district
  • presenting information, collaborating, and communicating electronically
  • providing staff with instructional resources including hand-outs, one-on-one training, videos, and/or web-based resources to assist in the integration and use of technology
  • interpreting student measurement data (scores, tests, etc.)
  • evaluating, designing, and implementing emerging instructional technologies
  • computer operating systems (e.g., Windows, iOS, Chrome, and Macintosh) and software applications, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Apps for Education programs, etc. 

     7.  Assist with the district student information system (SIS), PowerSchool, as well as the district and school websites, and learning management systems.

     8.  Other duties as assigned. 

    TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve Months 

    EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the support personnel evaluation system and Board policy.

    SALARY RANGE: Appropriate placement on current salary schedule.
