Instructional Designer
Location: Hybrid - 25% onsite in Livermore, San Ramon, Oakland, Daly City
Duration: 6 month contract+
Pay range: $65.00/hour - $69.00/hour

Responsibilities
" Design and develop instructor-led and on-the-job training for apprenticeships in the utilities industry.
" Leverage and apply established instructional design methodologies to assess stakeholder needs, analyze complex content, and evaluate delivered training.
" Develop learning materials for technical content, including hands-on practice activities, student guides, facilitator guides, scenarios, videos, assessments, simulations, and other instructional media.
" Perform a detailed task analysis for each job function, business process, or system for which training will be developed.
" Partner with cross-functional teams to conceptualize training design and content.
" Define learning objectives, and course structure aligned to stakeholder needs and to meet the constraints of the learning environment.
" Work under the direction of the Senior Instructional Designer to apply company standards, guidelines, and templates.
" Write clear and effective instructional text, audio, or video scripts appropriate for the target audience.
" Participate in milestone meetings with subject matter experts, including task analysis, alpha, beta, and train the trainer.
" Engage with subject matter experts for ongoing content review and validation.
" Receive and incorporate feedback.
" Self-manage assigned tasks and deadlines to complete deliverables.
" Proactively communicate issues and risks.
Required Skills
" 3+ years experience developing instructor-led training and on-the-job tasks for technical skills.
" Knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design and methodologies.
" Proven experience performing task analysis.
" Strong knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Teams.
" Demonstrated ability to execute and deliver against multiple competing deadlines, as needed.
Desired Skills
" Experience developing multi-year technical training programs for adult learners.
" Experience with QuestionMark, Author-It, and/or Storyline.
