Level II: 2-5 Years of Experience. Designs training programs, including classroom lectures, online courses, and self-study sessions, directed at employees, organization members, or those who use the organization's products or services. Develops and updates course content and coordinates learning curriculum. Conducts assessment and analysis to identify new development needs and recommends training methods accordingly. Maintains in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of the related field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage instructional and performance support projects for the company.
  • Work with clients, subject matter experts, and designers to establish project goals, develop project plans, monitor progress towards plans, and evaluate results.
  • Provide work direction to multiple project teams.
  • Collaborate with other departments/organizations to establish training strategies and policies, which meet client training and performance improvement needs.
  • Benchmark, research, and develop alternative approaches to performance improvement.
  • Plan and manage multiple instructional design projects, including computer-based, management development, and technical training.
  • Establish project goals/scope, develop project plans, monitor progress towards plans, troubleshoot project problems, provide guidance, and work direction to project team members, debrief team to establish lessons learned.
  • Apply current research and theory to the practice of instructional design.
  • Develop and guide the development of materials that support the content analysis, proposed technologies, delivery methods, and instructional strategies.
  • Design and guide the design of instruction that reflects an understanding of the diversity of learners and groups of learners.

Preferred Qualities

  • Ability to balance workload and negotiate within team as well as with the client on deliverables.
  • High degree of interpersonal communication skills for consensus building, facilitation, negotiation, counseling, leading, interviewing, and influencing.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Working knowledge of Storyline, Rise, PowerPoint, Adobe products.

Additional Information

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • SDGE to provide equipment.
  • Onsite Requirements: Onsite Monday – Thursday. Remote on Fridays (subject to change).
  • Working hours are one of four options:
    • 6:30 – 10:30, 11:00 – 3:00
    • 6:30 – 10:30, 11:30 - 3:30
    • 7:00 – 11:00, 11:30 – 3:30
    • 7:00 – 11:00, 12:00 – 4:00
  • Employee required to complete 8 hours a day, with either a 6:30 start or a 7:00 start, and they can either take a ½ hour lunch or an hour lunch.
