Communications Specialist

Location: Hybrid – Canonsburg, PA (preferred) or Houston, TX (secondary)
Schedule: Monday & Friday – Work From Home | Tuesday to Thursday – Onsite
Pay Rate: $35/hr


About the Role

As a Communications Specialist, you'll join the Tower Business Performance Team to craft clear, compelling communications that engage teammates, support project success, and drive adoption of business initiatives. You'll collaborate closely with subject matter experts and the Tower Communications team to ensure messaging is aligned with business priorities and resonates across diverse audiences.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and deliver internal communications to support business unit goals, initiatives, and changes.

  • Lead end-to-end communication planning: identify key messages, define audiences, select channels, and track effectiveness.

  • Leverage multiple communication channels (email, Teams, SharePoint, video) to engage teammates.

  • Translate complex business topics into clear, compelling messages.

  • Author and edit content across various formats using storytelling and visual tools.

  • Ensure alignment with corporate brand voice and messaging in partnership with the enterprise internal communications team.


What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to simplify technical or complex topics.

  • Experience creating communication materials and strategies that drive awareness and action.

  • A strategic mindset, with the ability to think creatively and execute effectively.

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining high attention to detail.

  • Comfortable working autonomously as well as collaboratively.


Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree (preferred focus: Communications, Journalism, Marketing) or equivalent work experience

  • Experience:

    • 2+ years of professional experience in internal communications or a related field

    • Proven experience in messaging business changes, initiatives, and performance

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), SharePoint, and Adobe Creative tools

    • Strong stakeholder management and customer service orientation
