Description:

The Instructional Designer 3 position work location is at the UH Sugar Land Campus, located at 14004 University Blvd., Brazos Hall, Sugar Land, TX. Some travel to UH Central and UH Katy Campuses.

Advise UH Andy and Barbara Gessner College of Nursing faculty in the application of complex instructional design principles and educational technology to develop courses. Provides expertise to facilitate instructional initiatives.

  1. Primary subject matter expert and provide consultation and support for faculty and staff.

  2. Direct the work of graduate technology assistants.

  3. Troubleshoot technical and operational issues of technology-based programs.

  4. Develops and conducts training of faculty on current and new academic software and technology.

  5. Research and assist faculty in the development of new and innovative teaching experiences.

  6. Present and represent University instructional designers at conferences.

  7. Collaborate with and assist internal and system-wide instructional designers.

  8. Assist with nursing simulation scenarios.

  9. Nursing website management and video updates.

  10. Management of social media content, creation, curation and updates.

  11. Perform other job-related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications: Requires application of advanced principles, techniques and theory in a professional discipline or a thorough general business management knowledge. Knowledge of this level is typically obtained through a directly job-related Master''s degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience.
