QUALIFICATIONS:

Required: Applicant must hold a valid PEL

REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Curriculum, Instruction, Technology & Safety

JOB GOAL: To strengthen instruction in the district by providing instructional support to teachers and to maintain a well-aligned curriculum with clearly defined learning outcomes.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL):

  • Conducts coaching cycles with staff that include co-planning, co-teaching, modeling, teacher reflection, and goal setting.
  • Engages in a coaching cycle with each new staff member to ensure pedagogy and instruction are aligned to best practices, IL state standards, & District 709 curriculum.
  • Provides student-centered instructional coaching integrating content knowledge, best practices, and responsiveness to student needs.
  • Facilitates and develops professional development sessions with teachers & staff to increase and refine their application of various instructional strategies, which includes planning and facilitating professional development sessions monthly on Early Release Wednesdays, after school, and asynchronous PD offerings.
  • Demonstrates ability to present the critical elements of instruction to support the development of skills.
  • Collaborates with instructional coaching team to support the instructional practices with an emphasis on the district pillars.
  • Collaborates with principals/executive director to develop and facilitate needs-specific professional learning related to curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
  • Shares and models effective use of instructional technology resources.
  • Coordinates with the executive director and teachers to evaluate curricular resources.
  • Provides other instructional duties as assigned by the building principal or executive director.
