Job Description / Essential Elements: Print
JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of school Principal and staff, provides assistance to the classroom teacher for small group instruction of students. Attends meetings, planning sessions, and trainings as required.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
? Provides instructional support for teacher through working with students
? Responsiveness to student needs
? Implementation and follow-through of teacher directions
? Communicate regularly with teachers regarding student progress
? Build rapport and relationship with students
Performs other directly related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
? Knowledge of appropriate reading strategies
? Enjoys interacting with students
? Takes initiative and is a self-starter
? Adaptable and flexible to the needs of students
? Caring, kind and empathetic towards students and colleagues
? Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
? High School Diploma; AA degree preferred
? Previous work with students in an educational setting is desired
