ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Will assist in instructional activities and supervision of students in a structured (regular education classes) and unstructured (lunchroom, playground, field trips, bus) environment.
Will assist in behavior management strategies and consequences, and may assist with self-help skills (diapering, toilet needs, personal hygiene, feeding, GI tube feeding, dressing, etc.), or health care procedures (charting and dispensation of medications, tube feeding, suctioning, etc.).
May work with wheelchair or ambulatory students in small groups or on an individual basis, and may be required to lift or restrain students weighing up to 80 pounds.
May transport student(s) in school vans into the community for school-related activities.
Other duties as assigned by the administrator or the classroom teacher.
