Will assist in instructional activities and supervision of students in a structured learning environment and will support students in a regular education class. Will assist staff with proctoring assessments and providing instructional support. May be working with students in small groups or on an individual basis. Will support other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher. Will also be assisting with daily living skills which may include toileting assistance and the monitoring of medication schedules for specific students.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to walk a minimum of 2 miles per day. • Ability to bend, stand, and stoop multiple times per day. • Ability to place students weighing up to 80 pounds in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) approved protective holds as defined by Act 118. • Ability to maneuver students weighing up to 180 pounds in wheeled mobility equipment (wheelchair, stroller, etc). • Ability to position or support an assisted transfer of a student weighing up to 180 pounds. • Ability to administer life-saving measures (CPR and first aid).
