The Department of Chemistry & Chemical Biology is seeking several Instructional Assistants for undergraduate chemistry courses, which may include labs or lecture sections. The Instructional Assistants will work under supervision of faculty in charge of the courses duties.
Possible Duties may include:
Supervise student laboratory work and provide guidance for lab procedure
Grade student reports, lab practical, and other course assignments and assessments.
Enforce lab safety rules prescribed by the course.
Attend mandatory training and preparatory meetings
Conduct zoom meetings for remote scheduled courses or online office hours
Maintain student grade records
Hold office hours for students with questions related to the course
May assist with troubleshooting laboratory experiments.
Help set up, operate, and maintain a variety of standard laboratory instrumentation as required for laboratory exercises.
Assist with lab drawer check in /check out
Facilitate student class or lab discussion and problem solving
Assist course instructor to proctor exams
Other duties assigned by the course instructor
