Instructional Aide- PreK

Supports the classroom teacher by helping young children develop academically, socially, emotionally, and physically in a safe and engaging learning environment.

Typical Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with daily classroom instruction and activities.
• Supervise students during centers, recess, lunch, arrival, and dismissal.
• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
• Help students develop early literacy, math, social, and motor skills.
• Prepare instructional materials, bulletin boards, and classroom resources.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
• Support behavior management using positive reinforcement techniques.
• Assist students with personal care needs, including toileting and hygiene when necessary.
• Observe student progress and communicate concerns to the classroom teacher.
• Help implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or accommodations for students with special needs when assigned.
