This position is responsible for the proper operation of an injection molding press to produce plastic parts per the Standard Operating Procedures in a safe and efficient manner.

**Primary duties of the Line Inspector include:

  • Tends machine and watches for signal for the following; that clamp has opened and part should be removed, by sliding gate on horizontal track; on automatic presses, parts have dropped into bin conveyor and need removed; removes parts by hand and places on table.

  • Responsible for relieving next shift press operator in a manner that does not disrupt the manufacturing process.

  • Read and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for handling, assembly, and packaging of parts.

  • Inspects molded parts for defects; visually and/or by feel for surface defects such as cracks, holes, color changes, or other specified defects; notifies supervisor if quality problem occurs.

  • Finishes molded parts; cuts sprue and trim flash, using hand tools; drills holes on punch or drill press.; assembles as/or if needed.

  • Responsible for proper record keeping; completes production sheets; completes scrap sheets.

  • Prepares parts for shipping or storing; counts and stacks parts in boxes; applies appropriate labels to boxes.

  • Maintains a neat and safe work environment.

  • Adheres to and upholds company’s safety policies and procedures.

  • Other duties as assigned.

**Requirements of the Line Inspector

  • 1-2 years related job experience preferred.

  • Must comply with attendance program.

  • Able to comprehend and follow oral/visual aid instructions and communicate orally with supervisor and other coworkers.

  • Pay special attention to detail; good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Able to lift, bend, stoop, squat, reach, crouch and kneel. Sit or stand for long periods of time.

  • Must be able to work in hot temperatures due to facility not being climate controlled and working next to ovens.

  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 35lbs.

Hours:

1st shift Monday – Friday 7:00am - 3:00pm with mandatory overtime on Saturdays

2nd shift Monday – Friday 3:00pm - 11:00pm with mandatory overtime on Saturdays

3rd shift Sunday- Thursday 11:00pm – 7:00am w/mandatory overtime on Fridays

Pay rate:

1st shift $15.00/hr - Overtime $22.50/hr

2nd & 3rd shift $15.50/hr - Overtime $23.25/hr
