JOB TITLE: Inside Sales Representative

POSITION REPORTS TO: Vice President of Operations

POSITION SUMMARY

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for providing exceptional customer service via phone, email, and in person. This role involves order entry and management, preparing pricing proposals, quoting prices and lead times, offering technical support, and ensuring customers are informed about product and pricing updates. The position also includes purchasing specialized components from approved vendors and supporting custom projects to meet customer needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in sales, sales support, or customer service roles.
  • Familiarity with rotomolded plastic storage tanks, mechanical process piping, or related industrial sectors is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience providing technical and application support.
  • Strong understanding of sales and purchase order documentation.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and typing.
  • Experience using CRM and ERP systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
  • Mechanical aptitude preferred.
  • Confident in negotiation and relationship management.
  • Collaborative team player with a positive, constructive attitude.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with the sales team to achieve or exceed monthly targets.
  • Identify revenue opportunities through outbound communication and relationship building.
  • Qualify sales prospects and manage leads through the sales pipeline.
  • Support Sales Management, Business Development, and cross-functional teams.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and vendors.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries regarding products, quotes, and orders.
  • Follow up on pending quotes and orders promptly.
  • Ensure accurate entry of sales orders, including all relevant details.
  • Maintain customer records and update CRM and ERP systems consistently.
  • Participate in team meetings, trade shows, and occasional weekend or overtime work as needed.
  • Stay informed on product knowledge, pricing updates, and industry developments
  • Support customers and provide tours of the production facility when required.
  • Assist with processing orders, returns, and stock rotations.
  • Monitor and manage backorders and provide status updates to customers.
  • Coordinate with production to ensure order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with project quotations and coordination for custom solutions.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Maintain and in-depth knowledge of all company products and services
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market conditions.
  • Provide accurate product and pricing information to customers.
  • Actively contributes to business development by identifying and developing new customer relationships.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Primarily an office-based role with extended periods of sitting and computer use.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally and navigate stairs as needed.
  • Visual acuity for reading and computer work, with or without corrective eyewear.
  • Regular use of hands for typing and phone communication.
  • Occasional standing at trade shows or events.
  • Business casual dress in the office, business professional attire for trade shows.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Standard office environment.
  • Occasional visits to the production floor and project sites as required.
