Cornell Pump, LLC is seeking a Inside Sales Application Engineer to support customers in selecting and applying pumping solutions for municipal water and wastewater projects.
In this role, you’ll work directly with municipalities and engineering firms to design and apply pumping solutions for water and wastewater systems. We’re looking for someone with an engineering or industrial sales background who enjoys solving technical problems and supporting customers.

Schedule: Onsite Monday - Friday, 7am to 4pm
Salary: $60,000 to $70,000

What You'll Do:
- Answer customer questions by phone and email about equipment selection and provide technical support
- Help customers choose the right pump models using technical information (BOMs, curves, dimensions)
- Prepare quotes and process sales orders
- Follow up with leads and existing customers
- Address technical and business questions or concerns
- Provide product demonstrations when needed
- Support and manage larger projects
- Build strong relationships with dealers, customers, and coworkers
- Represent the company at dealer events, trade shows, and customer visits (some travel required)
Who We're Looking For:
We welcome candidates from either of these backgrounds:
- Engineering graduates or early-career engineers interested in building a career in technical sales and customer-facing applications engineering.
- Industrial sales professionals with experience selling technical, mechanical, industrial, municipal, water/wastewater, construction, or manufacturing-related products who are eager to expand their technical knowledge.
- Successful candidates are naturally curious, enjoy solving customer problems, communicate effectively, and are comfortable learning technical products and applications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, a related technical field, OR equivalent technical/industrial sales experience
- 1+ years of experience in technical sales, inside sales, applications engineering, customer support, project coordination, or a related role preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and technical problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM or ERP systems preferred
- Experience with pumps, rotating equipment, valves, motors, controls, water/wastewater systems, or related industrial equipment is a plus
