  • Board eligible in Psychiatry
  • Active DEA controlled substances registration

Additional Information

  • Security clearance required + pre-employment drug testing
  • Cell phones are not permitted inside UTMB-TDCJ facilities (landlines available)
  • On-call required (after-hours on-call from home; shared rotation; no additional comp noted)
  • Texas license timing expectation (per client notes): candidate must already have a TX license or be able to start within ~3–4 weeks of presentation

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct psychiatric care to assigned patients
  • Conduct psychiatric, physical, and neurological examinations
  • Participate in civil commitment proceedings (as needed)
  • Provide clinical supervision to psychiatric mid-level practitioners (as assigned)
  • Participate in due process proceedings (voluntary admission/compelled psychoactive medication)
  • Participate in psychiatry QI/QM activities and provide emergency psychiatric call
  • Work effectively with utilization review/CMS processes and comply with timekeeping requirements

Inpatient Psychiatrist (Direct Hire)

Correctional Managed Care is seeking a full-time Inpatient Psychiatrist to provide direct psychiatric care within a TDCJ inpatient mental health facility at the Oliver Bell Unit in Cleveland, TX.

Location: Oliver Bell Unit – 901 E 5th St, Cleveland, TX 77327 (On-site)

Schedule: Monday–Friday | Day shift | 40 hrs/week
Shift options: 7:00 AM–4:00 PM, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, or 6:30 AM–3:30 PM

Pay rate: $245,440–$266,240/year (salary; commensurate with experience)
