Opportunity Details:

Position Title: Inpatient General Adult Psychiatrist

Location: Harahan, LA

River Oaks Hospital is recruiting a Psychiatrist for their Inpatient Adult and Addiction Programs. River Oaks Hospital, located in the suburbs of New Orleans, Louisiana, is a 126-bed private psychiatric facility for adults, adolescents, and children. Among our programs is The New Orleans Institute, a nationally recognized trauma treatment program. For the past 40 years, River Oaks has established a tradition of excellence in the treatment of acute psychiatric illness, dual diagnosis, alcohol and drug detoxification, trauma-based disorders, compulsive behaviors and eating disorders.

Position Overview:

  • Employment Type: Full-time Hospital Employed
  • Schedule / Hours: Onsite, Monday Friday
  • Patient Volume: negotiable, 15-20 daily caseload
  • Location: Harahan, LA
  • Practice Setting: Inpatient ages 18 and older, all ages for weekend call
  • Call requirements: 1 night a week, overnight telephonic call, 1:4 weekend call
  • Support / Care Team: Multidisciplinary with BH Techs, BH RN, Psychiatric NPs, Social Workers, and Therapists

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct admission evaluations, develop treatment plans, and provide ongoing treatment follow-up for child and adolescent patients.
  • Participate in daily treatment team meetings.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.
  • Complete required patient documentation and notes in accordance with facility guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Board Eligible/Board Certified in General Psychiatry.
  • Must be comfortable treating general adult inpatient daily caseload and ages 12 and older for weekend coverage
  • Active LA license or ability to obtain licensure
