Our client is looking to add an Injection Mold Technician to their team! Our client is a world leader in the manufacturing of thermoplastic and molded plastic components for the automotive industry. Having been in business for close to 40 years, they show no signs of slowing down and are looking for experienced technicians to come in and make a difference on their team.
The Injection Mold Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting machines and processes and performing accurate/consistent mold changes.
Responsibilities:
- Perform mold changes safely and consistently, following documented steps.
- Set up and start up presses, including purging and material changes.
- Diagnose and correct process issues (short shots, flash, burns, splay, warp) using structured problem-solving.
- Verify part quality and process capability; escalate issues appropriately.
- Document settings, deviations, and corrective actions for clean shift handoffs.
- Conduct preventive tasks (nozzle/heater checks, alignment, clamp/tonnage verification).
- Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and production teams to meet schedule and scrap targets.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area; follow all safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- 2-5+ years in Injection Molding (thermoplastics) as a Process Tech/Setup Tech.
- Proven ability to perform mold changes and process troubleshooting without constant supervision.
- Familiar with common molding defects and corrective actions.
- Comfortable reading job travelers, setup sheets, and basic prints.
- Clear written and verbal communication across shifts.
- Experience with common press brands (e.g., Husky, Engel, Nissei, Milacron) preferred.
- Knowledge of EOAT, auxiliary equipment (dryers, loaders, thermolators), hot runner basics preferred.
- Basic understanding of scientific molding principles (fill time, pack & hold, V/P transfer) preferred.
- Able to lift 50 lbs, work on/around presses, stand/walk for extended periods.
- PPE required; adherence to safety and 5S standards.
