QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the practicing state.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Minimum one (1) year of infusion nursing experience required.
 

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Chemotherapy infusion experience strongly preferred.
Candidates with other infusion nursing experience will be considered, particularly those with experience treating patients with chronic illnesses requiring ongoing infusion therapies.
 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
Knowledge of infusion therapy standards and best practices.
Ability to manage multiple patients and priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Excellent communication, patient education, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) documentation.
Commitment to patient-centered care, safety, and quality outcomes.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Schedule & Compensation

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $40.00 – $44.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
 

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Clinical Practice

Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of patient care consistent with established nursing standards and clinical practices.
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and monitor patient responses to treatment.
Assess patient and family educational needs and provide appropriate teaching, resources, and support.
Prepare and administer infusion therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician.
Administer medications and blood products using the correct medication, dosage, route, timing, and administration technique.
Facilitate treatment plan modifications by assessing patients, reviewing laboratory results, consulting treatment protocols, calculating dosages, and collaborating with physicians regarding symptom management and dosage adjustments.
Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central venous access devices.
Monitor patients for adverse reactions and intervene appropriately according to established protocols.
 

Documentation & Compliance

Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation of patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes.
Ensure pre-authorizations and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to therapy administration when required.
Apply knowledge of reimbursement processes and charge capture procedures.
Adhere to all regulatory, accreditation, safety, and infection control standards.
Support organizational compliance initiatives and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
 

Collaboration & Communication

Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
Serve as a patient advocate and promote a positive patient experience.
Communicate clinical information clearly and professionally with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.

Under minimal supervision, the Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to patients in accordance with national standards, company policies, and specialty practice regulations. The RN demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, developmental, and age-specific needs across the patient population, including late adolescence, adulthood, middle age, and geriatric patients. This role collaborates closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while ensuring optimal therapeutic outcomes and patient satisfaction.
