Job Description:
This position is responsible for the design, installation, and field support of physical security systems, infrastructure, and other integrated devices. It plays a critical part in supporting Capital Projects Renovations department requests and the ongoing operational performance of the systems.

Strong understanding of cabling infrastructure, device integration, and field installation practices. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and construction documents. Skilled in troubleshooting and resolving hardware and infrastructure issues. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to manage time effectively and maintain detailed documentation. Capable of working independently and within a team environment.
Special Considerations:
Supplemental knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification:
Solid experience in infrastructure engineering or physical security systems. Working experience with access control and video surveillance technologies. Additional Considerations:
Experience in higher education or large-scale campus environments. Certifications or training in cabling systems or physical security technologies.
Conditions of Employment:
This is a Norfolk-based position on the main campus, working a traditional 40-hour work week. On-call duties are part of the position. This position is designated as sensitive. A fingerprint-based criminal history check will be required of the final candidate. This position is considered essential personnel and may be subject to working during university closings.

Salary is commensurate with education and experience and begins at $75,423.
