Infrastructure Engineer Specialist - Mainframe

Introduction

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Mainframe Infrastructure Engineer to join a dynamic team. The Mainframe Engineering team is accountable for providing a stable, secure, resilient, and risk-managed platform for business teams to develop, deploy, and integrate applications on Mainframe. The company is executing a roadmap to migrate off Mainframe applications to the cloud while ensuring a safe and data retention compliant transition.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 10 years of experience as a Mainframe Programmer with hands-on technical expertise supporting Z/OS environments.
• Strong mainframe programming and system experience.
• 5 years of hands-on experience in mainframe infrastructure engineering.
• Knowledge of z/OS architectures and z/OS internals.
• Knowledge of mainframe security and RACF.
• Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.
• Prior work experience in the mortgage/financial services industry is preferred but not required.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of the zSecure tool and its language, Carla, for customization.
• Knowledge of mainframe security related to supporting audits & findings.
• Knowledge of IBM Mainframe System - JCL, CICS, SQL, z/OS, DB2, IMS, VSAM, XML, TSO/ISPF, zconnect.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Technical Lead for Mainframe Platform to govern operations, changes, and sustainability upgrade projects.
• Interface between internal teams and Managed Service Supplier for issue resolution & change coordination.
• Accountable for governance and oversight on contractual SLAs and key metrics.
• Perform technical review, validation, coordination, and compliance assurance for infrastructure changes.
• Execute risk management controls, Baseline Security Compliance activities, and audit support.
• Perform root cause analysis with corrective and preventive measures.
• Communicate and influence effectively.
