Qualifications
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a working knowledge of school district procedures, policies, and practices.
- Experience supporting and troubleshooting Windows operating systems in a networked environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of anti-spyware, antivirus, and other computer security applications and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve a wide variety of hardware and software issues.
- Knowledge of Smart Technologies and Promethean interactive classroom products.
- Ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot a variety of technology equipment and peripherals.
- Ability to deal effectively with students, certified staff, and classified staff.
- Valid Connecticut Drivers License and reliable transportation.
Technical Responsibilities
- Manage software installations, updates, and configurations on district computers and devices.
- Add and remove workstations from district domain and perform computer backup and maintenance procedures.
- Create, manage, and remove computer accounts in Active Directory, Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft Entra environments.
- Install, configure, and update a variety of software applications to support instructional and administrative needs.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair end-user hardware and software issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Perform Windows operating system upgrades and ensure workstations are maintained on current supported versions.
- Identify hardware failures and coordinate the repair, replacement, or disposal of equipment as necessary.
- Create, deploy, and maintain computer images; restore computers and devices from approved images as needed.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Promethean interactive panels and other classroom display technologies.
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and replace classroom projectors and associated audiovisual equipment.
- Provide technical support for classroom, office, and district technology equipment and peripherals.
- Maintain accurate records of service requests, repairs, installations, and technology inventory.
- Collaborate with district staff and administrators to ensure reliable operation of technology systems and services.
- Be available outside of regular working hours to record Board of Education meetings and special district events as required.
- Assist District Office personnel with special assignments involving the setup, operation, and support of technology and audiovisual equipment.
General Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day technical support to staff and students.
- Support instructional technology tools used in classrooms and learning environments.
- Assist with network-connected devices and technology resources throughout the district.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and Information Technology staff to support educational and operational technology needs.
- Promote and support the effective integration of technology into teaching and learning.
- Maintain a secure and reliable technology environment for district users.
- Support district initiatives that enhance the effective integration of technology into teaching, learning, and school operations.
Related Administrative Duties
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology or the Computer Information Systems Manager.
- Assist with technology-related projects, initiatives, and special assignments that support district operations and instructional goals.
- Maintain appropriate records, documentation, and reports related to assigned responsibilities.
- Support district technology planning and implementation efforts as directed.
