Job Description:

Job Title: Senior Technology Specialist

Reports To: Director of Technology and/or Operations Technology Manager

Location: East Haven High School Technology Department

Education: Associates of Science Degree, Bachelor preferred

Salary: $ 63,626.63 per year as listed in the Technicians contract

The Senior Technology Specialist provides high level support of data systems, networking and

communication infrastructure and systems interoperability. A valid motor vehicle drivers license is

required.

Experience:

  • Demonstrated aptitude or competence for successful fulfillment of assigned performance

responsibilities

  • Experience with student information systems (PowerSchool preferred)
  • Experience with trouble ticket and asset management systems
  • Experience with wired and wireless network configuration and troubleshooting
  • Experience with VolP phone systems
  • Experience with hardware platforms including Chromebooks, MacBooks, desktop and laptop

PCs, Apple TV, and large format displays

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaboratively in a team setting and independently when solving problems
  • Experience in a K-12 public education environment preferred
  • Experience with Google Workspace for Education administration preferred
  • Experience with security camera and video management systems preferred
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g. CompTIA A+, Network+, Google Certified) preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support and Escalations
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues that cannot be resolved by

front-line support staff

  • Diagnose and resolve advanced hardware, software, network, and system problems across all

district locations

  • Document troubleshooting procedures and solutions for recurring issues

Network, Infrastructure and Telecommunications

  • Assist with configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network equipment, servers

and virtualization platforms

  • Provide hands-on support for the district IP phone system and security camera infrastructure
  • Support infrastructure projects and system upgrades as directed by the Operations

Technology Manager

  • End-User Devices and Hardware
  • Manage Chromebook and laptop imaging, deployment and MDM configuration
  • Oversee hardware inventory, asset tracking, and equipment lifecycle processes
  • Support classroom technology including interactive displays and audio systems

Collaboration and Security

  • Assist with content filtering, security incident response, and CIPA compliance
  • Provide guidance and informal mentorship to technology support staff
  • Participate in after-hours support rotation and emergency response as required
