Minimum Qualifications
Associates degree. Three years of experience in the repair, troubleshooting, testing, installation and maintenance of voice, data, and wireless communication equipment is required. A high school diploma or GED along with additional experience in the repair, troubleshooting, testing, installation and maintenance of voice, data, and wireless communication equipment may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Must possess a valid Driver license.

Miami-Dade County Communications, Information & Technology Department is recruiting a full-time IT Telecommunications Technician assigned to the Service Management Division. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, diagnosing, and resolving issues related to telecommunications and computer equipment. Supported devices include desktop and laptop computers, tablets, standalone and network printers, multifunction printers, smartphones, external storage devices, Wi-Fi equipment, and local area network (LAN) systems.
The IT Telecommunications Technician utilizes diagnostic tools such as Fluke LAN/WAN testers, tone tracers, and data recovery software to identify and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues. The position also supports the installation and maintenance of copper and fiber cabling infrastructure, Ethernet connectivity, and other telecommunications systems throughout the Countys network environment.
