Please note: The salary range above represents the earning potential for this position. The anticipated hiring range for this position will be $89,721.00 - $117,928.84, based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Montgomery County Public Libraries is seeking a highly motivated IT Specialist III, Grade 26. This role is a key professional responsible for information technology management of MCPL systems with a focus on endpoint management, server maintenance, hardware and software administration, vendor and ticket management.
THIS RECRUITMENT WILL GENERATE A 6-MONTH ELIGIBLE LIST TO FILL CURRENT AND FUTURE VACANCIES FOR THE PART-TIME IT TECHNICIAN III SUBSTITUTE AT ALL LOCATIONS WITHIN MCPL.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience: Three (3) years of professional experience in information technology, including experience in endpoint management, desktop support, system administration, or a closely related area. Experience in a public sector or multi-site service environment is preferred.
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field from an accredited college or university. Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+; Microsoft certifications such as Azure or Cloud-related credentials; ITIL Foundation) may be considered in combination with experience.
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. For applicants possessing very hard-to- find skills which are a critical need to the department/agency, training and certification may be accepted in lieu of full degree requirements.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift boxes containing computer support items and equipment such as printers, computers, modems, and monitors weighing up to 50 pounds.
License: Possession and maintenance of a valid Class C (or equivalent) drivers license from the employees state of residence may be required for travel between library locations.
Medical exam protocol: This position requires completion of a pre-employment medical history form to assess your ability to safely perform the essential duties of the role.

Leave Benefits
Our generous leave package starts with non-MLS permanent and term employees earning 15 days of sick leave and 15 days of annual leave in their first year, as well as up to three additional personal days each calendar year. Positions in MLS earn 35 days of paid time off each year. In addition, we offer all employees 10 paid holidays. Retirement Benefits
All permanent and term positions are eligible for robust retirement plans. Public safety positions are eligible for a defined benefit pension plan in which they are vested after only five years.
