Job Description and Duties

Under direction of the Information Technology Supervisor II of the ServiceNow Management Group (SMG), the ServiceNow/Timesheet Administrator performs technical work that supports the Department's electronic timesheet system and the ServiceNow platform. Work involves analyzing and resolving complex system issues by reviewing logs, data outputs, workflow behaviors, and integration points to identify root causes of errors or performance problems. The position configures and updates system components, develops and modifies ServiceNow workflows, business rules, and UI elements, and performs scripting in JavaScript, Regex, and CSS/HTML to address technical requirements or correct defects. Tasks include evaluating conflicting business processes, interpreting detailed requirements, validating system results, and determining the most appropriate technical approach within established guidelines. The role prepares technical documentation, coordinates with users and technical staff to clarify needs, and ensures that changes support complex business functions across multiple program areas.

Effective July 1, 2025, specific Bargaining Units and associated Excluded State employees are subject to a salary reduction between 2% - 4.62% in exchange for Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) hours each month. Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

  • Two years of experience working with incident management, request fulfillment, asset management, and ITSM solutions such as ServiceNow
  • Two years of experience developing service catalogs using platforms such as ServiceNow
  • Two years of experience modern software development practices, including requirements gathering, issue creation and tracking, and iterative delivery workflows
  • Two years of experience programming with JavaScript and CSS/HTML
  • One year of experience working with asset management, CMDB, and CSDM
  • Experience supporting enterprise systems such as timesheet platforms
  • Familiarity with secure software development practices
