As an Information Technology Manager, Software, you will lead full-stack engineering squads to build and support highly available, resilient, and secure solutions. The IT Manager will balance their time between technical thought-leadership, hands-on solution collaboration, and talent development. This leader will also be responsible for overseeing the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery of projects, and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers.
• Oversee the design, development, and deployment of software applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and deliverables.
• Ensure the implementation of best practices in software development and coding standards.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies such as Agentic AI solutions.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

• 10+ years of hands-on professional experience in information technology, preferrable managing development teams.
• Strong knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or similar.
• Experience with AWS Cloud computing platform.
• Familiarity with generative AI concepts (e.g., LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG architectures) and their practical enterprise applications.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
• Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex software projects.
• Candidate must be solutions oriented using rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions, probing all sources for answers
• The candidate must have excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and management.
• Self-learner with the ability to pick up new technologies and provide tangible results
• Highly adaptable, a driver of change, and capable of quickly rallying teams / peer groups
• Personal Accountability: We operate a highly mission critical technology environment which means we need to act proactively and accept responsibility for the overall outcome.
• Collaborate and communicate across teams and think about how we can improve our respective domains but make the whole of IT greater than the sum of its parts.
• Systems Thinking: Know our business which lets us understand interdependencies and bring a systems thinking of the overall Delta environment to decisions we make.
• Excellent Judgement: As technology providers we are constantly having to balance the risk to the operation with the need for agility; this requires excellent judgement from everyone in the design, engineering and change management processes.

• Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
• Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
• Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
• Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical field is preferred.
• Experience working in an airline technology environment is preferred.
