About the Position

This is a time limited position (NS-14). The IT Manager IV is responsible for directing and managing the day-to-day information technology operations of the agency. This position ensures that technology systems, infrastructure, applications, user support services, and related resources are reliable, secure, responsive, and aligned with agency business needs. The IT Manager IV provides operational leadership for information technology staff; establishes service standards and work priorities; manages technology vendors and contracts; coordinates incident response and system maintenance; and ensures compliance with applicable state policies, security requirements, procurement rules, and agency procedures. The position serves as a primary point of accountability for daily IT service delivery and works closely with agency executive leadership, program offices, information security personnel, state technology oversight entities, vendors, and other governmental partners.

The successful candidate will be engaged, organized, and willing to address issues directly. This is not a purely technical or advisory position. It requires an experienced manager who can lead people, manage operations, solve problems, and ensure that information technology functions as a dependable business partner to the agency.

Preferred Qualifications

Typically requires a bachelor's degree and 10-12+ years of IT experience in multiple functions and IT leadership roles. Preferred experience with state IT procurement in Mississippi, developing IT budgets and long-range plans, and managing large technology projects, inclusive of managed service providers.

Paid Personal Leave and Sick Leave

Full-time employees receive paid time off for personal needs and for sick leave. Leave begins accruing after one month of employment and may be used as it is accrued. Employees earn approximately 18 days of personal leave annually and 12 days of sick leave annually.

In accordance with federal law, all employees serving in the armed forces or the military reserves are entitled to 15 days per year for military training.
