Job Description and Duties

Join an accomplished team of leaders and professionals committed to delivering technology-enabled business solutions for the Department of Water Resources and the California Natural Resources Agency (CNRA). This role serves as an Enterprise Technical Project Manager and is recognized as a senior change agent within the Technology Leadership Team. As a member of a diverse and skilled group of project management professionals, the position is responsible for overseeing project management services for enterprise technology initiatives and supporting the management of IT Governance and the agency-wide Information Technology Project Portfolio. The position holds extensive authority to apply project management methodologies and services, ensuring the achievement of successful business outcomes.

The Information Technology Manager I position is an excellent opportunity to join a motivated team of leaders and professionals who are committed to delivering technology-enabled business solutions to both the Department of Water Resources and the California Natural Resources Agency (CNRA). This role functions as an Enterprise Technical Project Manager and acts as a senior change agent within the Technology Leadership Team.

As a member of a skilled and diverse team of project management professionals, the incumbent is responsible for providing project management services for clearly defined business-enabling technology initiatives. Additionally, the position assists in the management of IT Governance and supports the oversight of the agency-wide Information Technology Project Portfolio.

The role is granted broad authority to implement project management methodologies and deliver services designed to achieve successful business outcomes.

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

The ideal candidate will possess a high degree of experience and knowledge expertise in the practices, principles, and techniques of information technology program and project management. Have in dept experience and knowledge of system engineering domains and project management methodologies. Knowledge and experience in information technology governance processes and procedures; contract and vendor management; and organizational change management. Strong communication, leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) is desirable but not required.
