POSITION SUMMARY:
The Information Technology (IT) Intern - PC Support Technician provides technical support to associates across Y in Central Maryland by assisting with computer hardware, software, and technology-related issues. This internship offers hands-on experience in troubleshooting, system maintenance, customer service, and IT operations while supporting the mission and values of Y in Central Maryland.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provide first-level technical support for desktop computers, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.
Respond to help desk tickets and assist users with troubleshooting hardware, software, and network-related issues.
Install, configure, and update computer hardware and software.
Assist with workstation setup, deployment, and equipment replacement projects.
Support user account creation, password resets, and access management as directed.
Maintain accurate records of support requests, resolutions, and inventory.
Assist with technology audits, equipment inventory, and asset tracking.
Support conference room technology, audiovisual equipment, and virtual meeting platforms.
Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff as appropriate.
Adhere to organizational policies regarding cybersecurity, data privacy, and acceptable technology use.
Participate in departmental meetings, training opportunities, and special projects

QUALIFICATIONS:
Current enrollment in a degree or certification program related to Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field preferred.
High school graduates pursuing post-secondary education in a technology-related field may also be considered.
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to walk, stand, climb, kneel, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods; must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to perform physical duties of supervised positions when necessary.
Must meet all physical certification and training requirements of the Y.
Ability to travel to various locations as needed.
