Job Description and Duties
The Information Technology (IT) Associate works as a Project Coordinator in the Enterprise Project Management Section (EPMS), part of the Project Management Office (PMO). The PMO is a customer-focused team that helps our partners successfully complete a wide range of IT projects that support the Department of FISCal (FI$Cal) goals. By using strong project management methods, tools, and best practices, the PMO delivers FI$Cal system releases along with new IT products, services, and systems. The EPMS oversees project management, process improvements, and governance activities.
The incumbent is responsible for assisting in the planning, executing, monitoring and controlling of all activities for the assigned projects which include implementation of new IT products, services and systems and new releases of the FI$Cal system. The duties for this position are focused in the IT Project Management domain, however, work may be assigned in the other domains as needed.

Working Conditions
At FI$Cal, we currently offer a remote-centered position with the flexibility of telework up to three days per week. In-office attendance is mandatory on designated days and is subject to change. Our office is located at 2000 Evergreen Street, Sacramento, CA. Candidates residing outside of California are welcome to interview, but proof of California residency is required before appointment. Please note, relocation and commute expenses are the responsibility of the employee.
This position requires prolonged sitting in an office-setting environment with the use of a personal computer. Employees must demonstrate a commitment to maintain a working environment free from discrimination and sexual harassment. Our department develops, maintains and operates FI$Cal, the statewide financial system. The FI$Cal system modernized how the state of California manages its finances and is one of the largest and most dynamic IT and business-transformation undertakings in California's history.
