Overview:

This position provides desktop and field-based IT support to Big Sky Resort employees and guests. The role operates with general direction from management while performing assigned tasks independently. Responsibilities include supporting end users, maintaining infrastructure, assisting with servers and applications, and ensuring reliable technology service across the resort. 

Responsibilities:
  • Provide desktop PC support to Big Sky Resort employees and customers Receives general direction from management and performs tasks independently. 
  • Assist with administering and maintaining production servers and enterprise applications that support Big Sky Resort’s operations. 
  • Install and/or replacing network devices such as switches, wireless access points, wireless bridges, webcams, printers, phones, etc. 
  • Organized, self-motivated, team player. 
  • Excellent communication and guest service skills with both technical and business team members. 
  • Judgment - Exhibits sound and accurate judgment. 
  • Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve. 
  • Committed to continuous improvement and proactive with prioritizing tasks. 
  • Dependable - Follows instructions, Responds to management direction. 
  • Maintain network cabling infrastructure (indoor and outdoor) Repair or replace defective wiring Install wiring to support renovation, relocation, or new construction Terminate wiring. 
  • Use logic, team resources, documentation, external references, deductive reasoning, and/or vendor support, to resolve difficult problems.  Maintain positive and functional vendor relationships. 
  • Provide new users with basic instruction Develop innovative ways to improve and/or streamline current processes. 
  • Maintain stocks of consumable supplies. 
  • May be assigned additional tasks by management. 
  • Drivers license to drive company vehicle while on duty (or personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement provided. 
  • The successful applicant will be required to carry a cellular phone and to on call during work hours. 

Working Conditions and Environment:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. 
  • Ability to work in areas without handicap access. 
  • Ability to work on a ladder. 
  • Weekend work schedule required. 
  • Night work schedule may occasionally be required. 
  • Working environment can include dirty, dusty, damp, dark, hot and cold conditions. 
  • Appropriate equipment will be provided for hazardous conditions. 

Extent of Public Contact: 

This job requires extensive, daily contact with both the public, Big Sky Resort guests and Big Sky Resort employees Customer service is a key element of the job and adherence to Big Sky Resort’s service values is mandatory For the most part, Big Sky Resort employees are the IT department’s customers. 

Qualifications:
  • Require a minimum of High School diploma or equivalent Desire 2 years related work experience. 
  • Knowledge of and experience with CAT5 / CAT 6 cabling. 
  • Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications is required. 
  • Continues learning and developing job-related knowledge and skills. 
  • Ability to use basic hand tools. 
  • Ability to use logic, vendor support, reference manuals, Internet resources, and documentation to solve problems is required. 
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record for company insurance purposes. 
  • Ability to ski or snowboard at or above the beginner level to perform on-mountain tasks. 

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs, 40lbs assisted.
  • Ability to use common technician hand tools.
  • Ability to work in areas without handicap access.
  • Ability to work on a ladder.
  • Ability to communicate verbally with public, customers and employees.
  • Ability to read manuals, documentation and computer screens.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
