** Starting salary is based on minimum education and years of experience and increases based on education and/or experience.

 

Overview: Protect mission‑critical systems at enterprise scale. WOOD is seeking a highly skilled Senior Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to lead security oversight across a large, complex software development and systems‑integration environment. In this role, you’ll partner with cybersecurity experts, engineers, and program leadership to safeguard high‑value systems, strengthen security architecture, and ensure compliance with evolving standards. You’ll shape and maintain the security posture of diverse platforms, guiding secure development practices, assessing risks, monitoring vulnerabilities, and driving remediation strategies that protect sensitive data and critical workflows. Your work will span threat detection, incident response, policy implementation, and continuous improvement across multiple technical domains. Security Clearance Requirements:

This position requires all candidates to be U.S. Citizens and possess an active TS/SCI Security Clearance with a Polygraph.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and enforce information systems security policies, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Perform Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) management, remediation, and reporting.
  • Develop, maintain, and update system security documentation, including SSPs and C&A artifacts.
  • Collaborate closely with the ISSM to uphold the program’s IA posture.
  • Maintain the operational security posture for assigned information systems.
  • Conduct security evaluations to ensure systems meet all certification and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain technical records for workstations, servers, network devices, and security appliances.
  • Analyze cyber threats and develop strategies for incident detection, reporting, and remediation.
  • Manage security‑related configuration changes across software, hardware, and firmware.
  • Support evaluation and deployment of security solutions for multi‑classification environments.
  • Develop, update, and enforce system‑specific security policies.
  • Administer user identification and authentication mechanisms for assigned systems.

Qualifications

Required Experience:

  • 10+ years of hands‑on ISSO experience supporting secure system operations in isolated, connected, and standalone environments.
  • 5+ years supporting the preparation and maintenance of SSPs and other security documentation.
  • 5+ years administering tools supporting IAVA management.

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience with security tools, hardware/software security implementation, encryption technologies, and communication protocols.
  • Extensive experience evaluating software architectures and systems for compliance with security requirements.
  • Background implementing and enforcing security policies on large‑scale software or IT programs.
  • Demonstrated success delivering day‑to‑day security operations for complex systems.
  • Self‑motivated, solutions‑oriented, and committed to best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 12+ years of relevant experience supporting large‑scale software development or integration programs.
  • DoD 8570 Compliance:
    • IAT Level II or higher
    • IAM Level II or higher
