The incumbent reports to the Health Center Administrator, Patient Access Services who reports to the Director of Patient Access Services, who reports to the Associate CFO, who reports to the Chief Financial Officer. Coordinates and manages the Patient Access staff, using initiative, independent judgment and discretion concerning priorities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Interviews, trains and supervises staff including delegation and assignment of work; scheduling of staff and work deadlines; coordination of staffing and work assignments to fulfill requirements of programs and performance management of staff.
- Reviews and submits staff payroll.
- Coordinates routine purchasing of supplies including pricing, purchase requests and follow-up as required.
- Acts as an information resource to external agencies and visitors about the University in general, as well as providing specific information pertaining to the departmental relationships and functions.
- Provides written materials related to program services as requested/needed.
- Collects and consolidates program utilization data in compliance with departmental requirements. Coordinates the use of various data bases to collect, analyze and report information. Performs Quality audits, reports results. Investigates registration errors.
- Interacts with Patient Accounts and professional billing services regarding billing and registration issues.
- Conducts tours for visiting regulatory and network agencies/providers, as well as other visitors.
- Assists with unit budget preparation, justification, and management (including data entry & reconciliation).
- Assist with the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
- Assists with problem identification and resolutions that affect interdepartmental or interagency communication and coordination. Assists with quality improvement initiatives.
- Recognizes needs, physical characteristics and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients treated.
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
