Job Title: Information Security Engineer
Location: Charlotte,NC

Duration: 12 months+

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Cyber Security Exercise Coordinator to join its Workforce Development & Exercise Team. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, executing, and evaluating cybersecurity exercises that strengthen incident response, cyber resilience, and coordination capabilities across the organization.

The ideal candidate will have experience in Cyber Security, Incident Response, Cyber Resilience, Security Operations, Threat Analysis, and Exercise Development, along with strong stakeholder management and strategic planning skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full lifecycle of cybersecurity exercises, including planning, design, development, execution, and post-exercise evaluations.
  • Develop realistic cyber incident scenarios to test response and recovery capabilities.
  • Strengthen cybersecurity incident response and coordination processes across the enterprise.
  • Facilitate tabletop exercises, simulations, and cyber resilience assessments.
  • Document lessons learned and coordinate improvement initiatives across business and technology teams.
  • Collaborate with Information Security, Incident Response, Risk Management, Technology, and Executive Leadership teams.
  • Evaluate existing cybersecurity processes and recommend enhancements.
  • Support cybersecurity workforce development and training initiatives.
  • Develop metrics, KPIs, and reporting related to cybersecurity exercises and resilience programs.
  • Present findings, risks, recommendations, and strategic initiatives to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Strategy & Planning, Program Management, or Cybersecurity Program experience.
  • 3+ years of Information Security experience in one or more of the following:
    • Incident Response
    • Security Operations
    • Threat Intelligence
    • Vulnerability Management
    • Cyber Threat Analysis
    • Digital Forensics
    • Cyber Crime Investigation
    • Penetration Testing
    • Business Continuity
  • 1+ year of Cyber Resilience experience.
  • Experience leading or supporting cybersecurity exercises, tabletop exercises, or simulation programs.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Incident Management System experience.
  • 3+ years of Incident Response Protocols and Tools experience.
  • Experience creating cybersecurity assessment exercises and simulation scenarios.
  • Knowledge of Information Security Frameworks, Standards, and Best Practices (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS, etc.).
  • Experience with SIEM platforms such as Splunk, QRadar, ArcSight, LogRhythm, Microsoft Sentinel, or similar.
  • Experience performing cyber threat analysis and risk assessments.
  • Ability to manage complex security incidents and develop innovative solutions.
  • Experience presenting security risks and recommendations to senior leadership.
