Job Title: Information Security Engineer 3 - Contingent

Location: Chandler, AZ (Preferred) / Charlotte, NC

Contract Length: 18mo (Conversion Eligible)

Pay Rate: $53 - $57

Top Requirements:

  • Strong network security experience (firewalls, firewall rules/policies, routing-level controls)
  • Deep expertise with enterprise firewall platforms (Palo Alto, Fortinet)
  • Experience evaluating and applying core information security principles (availability, integrity, confidentiality, risk management)
  • Ability to assess risk, provide guidance, and recommend appropriate security controls
  • Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and governance discussions

Plusses:

  • Experience with security architecture and review/governance functions
  • Knowledge of cloud security, AI risk considerations, OSI layers, and Zero Trust concepts
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (PCI, NIST, FINRA, SOX)
  • Exposure to penetration testing concepts (awareness vs. SME-level)
  • Background in financial services

Job Summary:

In this contingent resource assignment, you will support the Network Security Review Board, which is responsible for evaluating infrastructure components, network changes, and security requests to ensure alignment with enterprise security standards and risk controls.

You will consult on moderately complex initiatives within Information Security Engineering, focusing on network-level security review and risk evaluation. This role is less hands-on configuration and more focused on reviewing, assessing, and approving security posture, particularly around firewall and routing-layer controls.

You will analyze security risks, evaluate proposed changes (including emerging areas such as AI-related activities), and provide clear guidance on required controls to ensure systems and data remain secure and compliant.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Review and evaluate network security requests through the Network Security Review Board (firewalls, routing, infrastructure changes)
  • Assess risk associated with proposed changes and provide recommendations on required controls and mitigations
  • Analyze firewall configurations, rules, and policies across enterprise platforms (Palo Alto, Fortinet)
  • Provide clear guidance on security risks, impacts, and compliance requirements to business and technical stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Network Services, DLP, Testing, Firewall, and Business teams
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise security principles (availability, integrity, confidentiality, and risk management)
  • Review and support security considerations for cloud, AI, and Zero Trust-related initiatives
  • Participate in governance processes for infrastructure approvals, loss prevention, and inspection services
  • Validate adherence to regulatory and compliance frameworks (PCI, NIST, FINRA, SOX)
  • Support incident-related reviews and risk analysis when required
  • Conduct independent research and analysis to evaluate emerging risks and security patterns
