Infant Assistant Teacher - Full Time

Location: Tiny Steps Learning Center, Paterson, NJ.

Tiny Steps Learning Center is expanding and seeking passionate Infant Assistant Teachers to join our team. We provide a welcoming, safe, and nurturing environment where children can thrive.

Position Overview:
The Infant Assistant Teacher will support the Lead Teacher in caring for infants, fostering their development in a nurturing environment. Responsibilities include:
  • Assisting with physical caregiving and developmental assessments.
  • Supporting the curricular plan.
  • Building supportive relationships with staff, parents, and students.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with infant children in a daycare setting.
  • Associate Degree in Education or current CDA certification (Preferred).
  • Strong understanding of child development and infant educational methods.
  • Excellent time management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Bilingual English & Spanish preferred.
  • Able to lift up to 45 pounds multiple times per day.
  • Willingness to submit to background checks.
  • CPR, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogen certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • Available to work full-time, including as late as 5:30 pm (Depending on work shift assigned).

  • Ensure children’s safety and well-being.
  • Support curriculum implementation.
  • Serve as a positive role model.
  • Foster social and emotional development.
  • Maintain a clean and nurturing environment.
  • Collaborate with Lead Teachers and other staff.
  • Assist in creating engaging lesson plans and tracking progress.
