The Role
The Infant Educator shapes the earliest stage of development — birth through 18 months. This is intentional work: building the warm, secure relationships that make learning possible, designing environments that reflect each infant's identity and family, and supporting developmental milestones through responsive care. You will know each child deeply, communicate daily with families as genuine partners, and hold the standard NAEYC accreditation demands.
Responsibilities
- Build warm, secure relationships with each infant through consistent, intentional caregiving
- Execute daily routines — feeding, diapering, rest, and transitions — with care and precision
- Plan sensory-rich experiences driven by each infant's interests, across all developmental domains: social-emotional, physical, language, and cognitive
- Scaffold activities as skills grow — adjusting materials and interactions to match each infant's developing abilities
- Observe and document developmental milestones (ASQ & TSG)
- Build genuine two-way partnerships with families — communicating daily about each child's milestones, activities, and development through Procare and Lillio
- Maintain a safe, organized classroom compliant with OAC licensing and NAEYC standards
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development (min. 20 hours/year)
What We Require
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or a related field — required
- Must meet Ohio licensing requirements for the infant/toddler age group
- Knowledge of infant development, attachment-based caregiving, and NAEYC standards
- Strong communication skills and a coachable, growth-oriented mindset
