A day in this role

You open the service center with a quick safety moment and a stand-up huddle. Work is prioritized, bottlenecks are cleared, and you coach supervisors while staying hands-on where needed. By midday, you’re reviewing SQDIP boards, closing out RCCMs, and checking progress on 5S audits. In the afternoon, you partner with Sales to validate the monthly forecast, adjust labor and materials, and finalize corrective actions tied to P&L variances. Before closing, you walk the floor again—verifying quality, reinforcing standards, and celebrating wins.

  • Assess capabilities, identify skill gaps, and implement targeted development plans.
  • Create a positive, motivated culture; lead as a working manager who is present on the floor.
  • Serve as the bridge between employees and the Talent/HR team when support is needed.

Operational and financial stewardship

  • Own full P&L results; diagnose shortfalls and execute detailed corrective action plans.
  • Ensure product and service quality via root cause analysis and formal corrective actions for all nonconformances.
  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean methods to enhance flow, inventory control, and profitability.
  • Lead safety programs: run monthly inspections, complete JSAs, and promptly mitigate hazards.
  • Collaborate with Sales to produce accurate monthly forecasts that meet or exceed targets.
  • Implement and sustain 5S/Visual Factory; conduct monthly audits and resolve nonconformities quickly.
  • Support special projects within the plant and across broader operations.
  • Deliver on SQDIP performance and close gaps with effective RCCMs.
