Imagine taking a customer’s downed engine and returning it in peak condition the same day. At DEUTZ—a leader in innovative diesel, gas, and electric drive systems for professional applications across construction, agriculture, material handling, stationary power, commercial fleets, and rail—you’ll do work that keeps critical industries moving.

What challenge will you own?

From first diagnosis to final cosmetic touch, you’ll orchestrate the entire shop repair cycle. You’ll coordinate with Parts Specialists, collaborate with our Service Department for technical validation, and partner with the Sales & Operations Manager to keep the facility spotless and brand-right. Every repair is safe, compliant, and finished to spec—and every customer leaves confident.

Your impact

  • Diagnose, plan, and execute preventative and corrective repairs on DEUTZ and non-DEUTZ equipment.
  • Pre-stage parts and materials; anticipate needs and remove bottlenecks.
  • Hold a high bar for safety, quality, and cosmetic finish on completed jobs.
  • Pair each identified failure with the right technical solution.
  • Document precisely: close work orders and time sheets without delay.
  • Communicate with customers and teammates with honesty and respect.
  • Assist with warranty claims and customer invoicing.
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures; take on related duties as needed.

Baseline qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to maintain DOT medical card status
  • Valid driver’s license; company insurable
  • Experience (choose one path): 4+ years Shop Technician; or 2+ years Field Technician; or 2–3 years Remote Field Service Technician

Preferred experience

  • ~2 years with diesel engines
  • 2–5 years repairing construction equipment
  • Comfort with Serdia, Serpic, Fieldaware, Word, and Excel
  • Formal training/certifications in heavy equipment and diesel repairs

Working conditions

Shop environment with significant standing and walking; potential exposure to weather and loud noise.

Manufacturing assembly and warehouse conditions: noise, dust, diesel fuel, oil, and extreme hot/cold temperatures; no A/C.

Daily physical demands include concentration, sitting, standing, vision, verbal communication, hearing/listening, lifting, and bending.
