A Carter Lumber Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, functional facility while performing daily repairs, emergency and preventative maintenance. Inspects all machinery to ensure safety functions are working properly. A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company are necessary to this position. Requirements: Preferred hands‑on experience inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial production machinery Must be able to work on-site Must be a self-starter and able to work unsupervised Knowledge and experience in industrial maintenance, including electrical troubleshooting, welding, fabrication, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals Strong organizational skills and excellent communication skills Must be able to work at a fast pace and successfully multi-task Friendly, outgoing personality; works well with others Ability to carry 25-50lbs Strong computer skills 1st shift position Responsibilities: Facility Maintenance Ensure that all facilities, buildings and assets that are used by the company are maintained and repaired in a proper and cost-effective manner. Makes recommendations on maintenance and improvements. Prioritizes and sets goals based on importance of project that needs attention. Industrial Equipment Maintenance Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including servos, limit switches, PLCs, sensors, motors, and basic machine controls Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on all production machinery to minimize downtime Inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical systems such as conveyors, saws, motors, gearboxes, bearings, and hydraulic/pneumatic components Document all maintenance activities and maintain accurate service records Recommend and maintain inventory of critical spare parts to ensure continuous operation Safety Adheres to safety requirements when operating tools and equipment. Ensures safety functions on equipment are operating properly. Handles material in a safe and appropriate manner. Reports any defects or safety issues immediately.
